LEE STODDARD-BOOTHBAY, MAINE
On October 17, 2015 Lee Stoddard, is the second inductee into the U.S. ProMiniGolf Hall of Fame during the Night of the Master’s at Crocodile Rocks, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Stoddard’s love for Mini Golf drove him to open his own course, Dolphin Mini Golf in Boothbay, Maine twenty five years ago. He joined U.S. ProMiniGolf Association in 1997, and held one of the USPMGA’s most prestigious tournaments: the US Open in 2008, the first year it started to travel to different locations around the United States. Stoddard’s sportsmanship and premier playing skills allowed him to play in the New England Invitational that occurs every four years and consist of four men team, winning in 2001 and 2005 in Bozarah, Connecticut. Since 1997, the very first Master’s, Stoddard has competed in many National tournaments such as the USPMGA US Open USPMGA Master’s at Hawaiian Rumble in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the Odetah Fall Classic, winning titles of: 2006 Metal Play Championship, 2007 Champ of the Camp, 2008 Match Play Championship, and 2010 Stroke Play Championship. Currently Stoddard hosts the annual Maine State Dolphin Open every September for the US ProMiniGolf’s top ranked players including elmer Lawson, Matt McCaslin, Danny Mccaslin, Peter and Nancy Gilchrist, along with many other players. US ProMiniGolf honors Stoddard for allowing the sport we all love to flourish, spreading the word of out first class events, and his dedication that has driven him to the top of the USPMGA family. We will always remember Lee for his contribution to the sport of mini golf through his playing years and his hosting of World class USPMGA tournaments.
