Frostbite Open Results

Frostbite 2016Happy New Year!

The first tournament of the year is in the books at The Red Putter Mini Golf in Ephraim (Door County, Wisconsin)!
This year’s Frostbite Champion is Nick Kwaterski of Sister Bay with a two round score of 83.  Nick took home the 1st place trophy, $700 and a Red Putter hat.  Nick also won the trophy for best single game with a score of 41.  Nick won the Frostbite Open in 2012 and 2014.
In second place with a two round score of 89 was Cal Lautenbach of Milwaukee.  Third place went to Paul Nelson of Fish Creek, last year’s Frostbite Champion, after a playoff with Jim McDonald and Austin Weigman.
This was the sixth annual Frostbite Open, held on New Year’s Day at The Red Putter Mini Golf.  A total of 42 players finished the 2 round tournament, each taking home an “I Survived The Frostbite Open” bumper sticker.
Conditions at the start of the tournament were rather mild.  24 degrees with a light wind and a bit of sunshine.  The Red Putter crew worked hard to prepare for the tournament as over a foot of snow fell on the course on December 29th.
The next tournament will be The Red Putter Pro Tournament on Saturday, August 6th
